Norland is pleased to announce that Mandy Edmond will take up the role of Vice Principal and Head of Enterprise and Strategic Partnerships at Norland. 

Mandy Edmond, who joined Norland from her previous higher education roles at further education colleges and as Programme Director at the University of Reading, has over two decades of experience in further and higher education.  

With over 13 years of dedicated service at Norland, Mandy brings a wealth of experience and vision to this newly expanded role in Enterprise and Strategic Partnerships. Her previous role, as Head of Quality and Standards included leading the Quality and Standards department, overseeing admissions, student support, IT, and international student services.  

As Vice Principal, Mandy also played a pivotal role in shaping Norland’s academic governance and regulatory compliance and was instrumental in guiding the institution through its outstanding Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) assessments. Mandy also led successful applications for taught degree awarding powers which saw Norland granted time-limited degree awarding powers in 2019, followed by full indefinite degree awarding powers in 2025.

As well as her continued role as Vice Principal, Mandy’s new role will see her responsible for developing and implementing consultancy and training initiatives at Norland. She will spearhead fostering strategic partnerships and supporting organisations worldwide in enhancing their provision in education and care for young children with Norland’s child-centred approach and mark of excellence.  

Principal, Dr Janet Rose, said: “Mandy’s appointment signals Norland’s continued commitment to broadening its global influence and setting new standards for excellence in early childhood education and care. Her leadership will be instrumental in driving Norland’s international strategy and ensuring the highest standards are delivered worldwide.” 

Mandy Edmond said: “It’s an honour to be appointed to this new role and I look forward to developing new, as well as strengthening existing, partnerships across the world. Children and families deserve the very best services and my new role will allow organisations to demonstrate their commitment to excellence by partnering with Norland for training and consultancy.”
