Helping you to support your child through the higher education process

“As Principal of Norland and a parent, I appreciate first-hand the parent and supporter perspective on this significant milestone in your children’s lives. This section is designed to support parents and supporters as you guide and advise the children you care for on their next steps forward and help them to decide whether Norland is the right choice for them.

“As a small institution, we offer outstanding support for each of our students and this begins when they are first finding out about Norland. I encourage you to find out as much as possible by reading all of the information available on our website and prospectus, by coming along to an open day to meet staff and students, by attending as many of our physical and  virtual events as possible such as our Norland Unwrapped series, and by speaking to our admissions team who will answer your questions or pass on any specific questions to colleagues. We are a very friendly and welcoming team, so please don’t hesitate to contact us.

“We look forward to welcoming you to Norland soon!”

Why study at Norland?

If you are the parent or supporter of a child considering studying an early years degree or interested in a career working with children, look no further than our award-winning early years degree and diploma programme.

It’s hard to summarise in a few words exactly why we’re considered the best and why your child should choose Norland if they strive to be the very best early years professional. There are so many reasons. Partly it’s our 130-year worldwide reputation for producing the best early years practitioners, backed up by our world-class teaching and learning. Partly it’s our award-winning training that perfectly blends theory, practice and extensive real-world experience taught through two distinct and highly-respected qualifications. It’s also the incredible support students receive throughout their studies and for the rest of their career when they join the Norland family. But most of all, it’s the outstanding career opportunities graduates have as soon as they earn the professional title ‘Norlander’ or ‘Norland Nanny’ aided by their very own employment agency.

Parent testimonial

“Please can I pass on my thanks to you all for the incredible efforts you are making to provide support, teaching and resources to your students, including my daughter. From posting individual sewing kits, to pre-empting questions about ingredient costs and issuing a budget, to the support from the library, student support and lecturers, it is quite remarkable. … I’m sure, many of your staff are also having to manage home schooling, vulnerable relatives, queues for supermarkets and the other daily life challenges in the time they have left from adapting the course and providing online teaching. THANK YOU!”
