Norland graduates shortlisted for prestigious ECSDN awards

We are delighted to announce that three of our outstanding graduates – Matilda (Set 144), Fern (Set 146) and Connie (Set 146) – have been shortlisted for the Early Childhood Studies Degree Network (ECSDN) Awards 2026, a celebration of excellence in early childhood education and practice.
The ECSDN Awards recognise individuals who have positively contributed to the early childhood sector including students, graduates, professional practitioners and institutional settings from across the UK early childhood sector. Categories celebrate achievements in research, innovation, practice and advocacy, highlighting the incredible work of professionals shaping the future of early years education. This year’s awards highlight achievements across categories such as Graduate of the Year, Outstanding Early Childhood Practitioner and Social Impact of the Year.
We are proud to share that all three of Norland’s nominees have been shortlisted in their respective categories – an incredible achievement that reflects their dedication and expertise:
- Matilda (Set 144) – Graduate of the Year
Recognising academic excellence and commitment to professional practice and celebrating graduates with exceptional potential and dedication to early childhood education and care.
- Connie (Set 146) – Researcher of the Year
Celebrating impactful research that advances understanding and best practice in early childhood education, highlighting research upholding high standards and with the potential to inform policy or improve practice.
- Fern (Set 146) – Best Innovation/Practice with Babies of the Year
Honouring exemplary practice in caring for and educating the youngest children, meeting needs and supporting development.
The winners will be announced at the ECSDN Awards Ceremony on Friday 23 January 2026 at the University of Northampton. The event will bring together leading voices in early childhood education to celebrate innovation, research and practice that positively impacts children and families.
This shortlisting is testament to Fern, Matilda and Connie’s dedication to their profession as well as Norland’s commitment to supporting best practice and research in the early years.
