Dr Theodora Papatheodorou, Research Fellow, was selected by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA)  and worked with the advisory group for the review of the early childhood studies subject benchmark statements.

Subject benchmark statements describe the nature of study and the academic standards expected of graduates in specific subject areas. They show what graduates might be expected to know, do and understand at the end of their studies. They’re used as reference points in the design, delivery and review of academic programmes. Early childhood studies is one of many subject areas that have these groups.

Over the past year, Dr Papatheodorou has worked closely with the QAA to support with the publication of the early childhood studies subject benchmark statements as part of the advisory group.

The subject advisory groups play a key role in the review of the subject benchmark statements, ensuring collaboration of expertise from across the sector.
