Permanent Salaries from April 2018

Salary ranges depend upon the Norland Nanny's experience, work history and the number of hours required by the client. All salaries are quoted in gross per year and do not include employers' National Insurance contributions. The net figure below is based on a standard 1150L tax code and rounded up/down to the nearest 5.

A daily position is normally 50 hours per week; a residential position is normally 60 hours per week. This is then calculated pro rata for part time positions. The ranges below are as a guideline only, individual Norland Nanny’s salaries may be higher than those quoted.

These are purely guidelines. Salaries based on 50 hrs per week daily and 60 hours per week residential.

*Home Counties include Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey, and Sussex.

When working overseas the Nanny will need to continue to make National Insurance contributions in order to claim UK state benefits.

All permanent nanny employers are responsible for paying a gross salary and responsible for the deduction and payment of Income Tax and National Insurance contributions. All gross figures quoted above include Income Tax and National Insurance but exclude Employers National Insurance. Employers must provide a written statement of earnings (payslip) and deductions to the Norland Nanny on a monthly basis. Permanent Placement Fees

For all permanent Norland Nanny placements a one off fee payment is made to Norland Agency, which is invoiced on the day that the Norland Nanny starts a position.

NB: Fees are based on net salaries, using Nannytax gross to net tables for employees working on a standard tax code + NI.

UK-based Norland Nanny Full/Part-time 16% net annual salary + VAT
Overseas Norland Nanny Full/Part-time 22% net annual salary + VAT
Nursery Full-time £1,500 + VAT


Norland Agency proudly supports the charity TAMBA, and offers all TAMBA members a discount on the Agency fees.

On a permanent placement, TAMBA members pay the reduced fee of 15% of the nanny’s net annual salary + VAT.

Every effort will be made to introduce suitable applicants, but the final decision to engage a Norland Nanny must be the employer's responsibility. Please note - names of Norland Nannies are given to employers in the strictest confidence. Should they be passed on to other employers and subsequently engaged, the usual placement fee will be charged.
