Lucy Krebs MA, BA (Hons), Norland Diploma - Deputy Head of Learning and Teaching and Student Engagement Manager

Lucy Krebs is Deputy Head of Learning and Teaching and Student Engagement Manager. She teaches on both the BA (Hons) and Norland diploma. As Student Engagement Manager, Lucy works with a team of Student Representatives to discuss feedback, potential changes to the course and/or student experience and to plan social and charity opportunities for students. She also oversees Widening Participation and the Anti-Discrimination Innovation Team, the ‘Change Agents’ programme which provides students with the opportunity to suggest, implement and run new clubs or opportunities for their peers, as well as the ‘Here to Hear’ scheme, which is a student mentoring programme.

Lucy is involved with both the academic and practical elements of the course, using a variety of different teaching and learning methods. Lucy trained at Norland and since then has worked as a private nanny, an Early Years Practitioner at the Norland Nursery and worked with the Newly Qualified Nanny (NQN) team that involves preparing and supporting students in their first year of employment. Lucy gained her BA (Hons) studying part-time with the Open University in 2016 and a MA Integrated Working with Children and Families in the Early Years from Pen Green in 2021. In her research, Lucy has published research in student engagement, working with fathers and presented papers on her theory; mutual-scaffolding at the EECERA Online Conference 2021.
