Why attend an open day?

Attending an open day is a crucial step in choosing the right university, especially for small and specialist institutions like Norland. Attending our open day is your chance to experience the atmosphere on campus, meet our friendly staff, talk to students who have been in your position, and explore the beautiful city that you’ll get to call home.

As a smaller provider, it’s important that you’re able to see yourself flourishing here. Our open day will help you to make an informed, confident decision about your future. Don’t miss the opportunity to see what sets us apart, what makes studying at Norland unique and what makes a career as a Norland Nanny so fulfilling.

This page provides key information about attending our open day, such as travel and what you can expect.

What to expect at our open day?

When you book for an open day, you’ll be asked to select a presentation time for our Discover Norland presentation. This presentation provides you with a comprehensive overview of our training, the Norland Nanny career, application process, student finance and more. It’s led by senior members of staff who are joined by a current student and a Norlander to share their experiences.

After completing the form, you’ll receive an email confirming we’ve received your booking. You’ll receive emails running up to the event with exciting announcements and information to help you plan your visit.

Our open day takes place at our Oldfield Park campus, situated at 39-41 Upper Oldfield Park, Bath, BA2 3LB.

When you arrive, make your way to the main reception where you’ll be signed in. You’ll be given a programme outlining what will be happening during the day and where you can find different teams.

Open day visitors tend to spend around 2 to 3 hours on campus, including the Discover Norland presentation which lasts around an hour and 15 minutes.

There will be plenty of staff and students at open day to answer any questions you have or point you in the right direction if you’re lost.

Refreshments such as teas, coffees and soft drinks will be provided. However, please be aware that we do not have a cafe or restaurant on-site, so you will need to make your own arrangements for lunch. Our students will have plenty of great recommendations on where to eat in the local area and city centre.

Watch Izzy's open day vlog!

Izzy recorded a vlog to share her experience of her trip and attending the open day. Watch what she got up to during her weekend to hear about her experience attending an open day at Norland.

I cannot express how impressed my daughter and I were with our trip to Norland for its open day in beautiful Bath. Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful, and full of useful information about life at Norland and beyond. The day ran like clockwork, and staff had thought of our every query. We really enjoyed the presentation by current students and fully-fledged Norlanders, which was full of fascinating insights into both studying and working, and we also had a fantastically inspirational talk from the Principal, Dr Janet Rose – we could have listened to her all day! We wished we could have stayed longer but hope to be back again very soon!
