Norland is proud to announce that it has officially been awarded the status of Student Sponsor with a Track Record of Compliance by the UK government, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to supporting international students.

The designation by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) confirms that Norland meets the highest standards of compliance and responsibility in sponsoring international students under the UK’s Student visa route. The award, following four years of close monitoring by the UKVI to ensure we upheld the compliance requirements, allows Norland to continue welcoming students from around the world to access its world-renowned training.

From 15 August 2025, international students granted visas to study at Norland will benefit from enhanced work rights, including permission to work up to 20 hours per week during term-time and full-time during vacations. Students will also be able to complete all work placements as well as take on voluntary work. They will also be able to apply for a Graduate visa to allow them to stay in the UK to undertake their fourth year in a probationary post as a Newly Qualified Nanny. This change not only supports students financially but also provides valuable opportunities to gain further practical experience in the UK’s early years sector.

Norland’s dedicated Student Visa Manager ensures that every student receives tailored guidance throughout the visa application process. From issuing the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) to supporting students with documentation and compliance, Norland is committed to making the transition to UK study as smooth as possible.

Dr Janet Rose, Principal of Norland, said: “This is an exciting development as we continue our journey to become the world’s first early years specialist university. This achievement reflects Norland’s ongoing dedication to excellence, integrity and global inclusivity. We have been delighted to welcome international students to Norland since 2021, and as a Student Sponsor with a Track Record of Compliance, Norland is now better positioned to help more students from around the world achieve their dreams of becoming a Norland Nanny.”

Founded in 1892 by Emily Ward, Norland has been at the forefront of childcare training for over 133 years, giving students the opportunity to become amongst the world’s most sought-after childcare professionals. Norland students undergo four years of rigorous training to earn two distinct qualifications: a BA (Hons) degree in Early Childhood Education and Care and the prestigious skills-based Norland diploma. Fully qualified graduates, known as Norlanders or Norland Nannies, also benefit from their own dedicated employment agency, the Norland Agency, and their pick of jobs around the world.
