Principal Dr Janet Rose and Tamsin Grimmer, Principal Lecturer, have contributed to a new guide by leading early childhood professionals titled Play Matters.

This essential free guide, written collaboratively by over 60 early childhood professionals, combines research and insights with practical guidance for educators, parents and anyone passionate about children’s development.

The authors of Play Matters focus in on play as a way to support holistic child development, encourage creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking, foster meaningful learning experiences and more.

Norland Principal Dr Janet Rose contributed to the chapter ‘The Playful Brain’ and Principal Lecturer Tamsin Grimmer edited chapters on ‘Play, Love and Nurture’ and ‘Challenging Play’.

The guide has chapters linking play to themes such as joy, technology, special educational needs and disabilities, love and nurture, and more.

Read the guide on the Early Years Reviews website.
