Biography
Mandy Edmond is Vice Principal, Head of Enterprise and Strategic Partnerships, and a member of Norland’s Executive and Strategic Leadership Team. She is responsible for consultancy, training and partnership work, which involves forging new alliances with organisations across the world that share Norland’s values and ambition to improve experiences for babies, young children and their families.
Mandy has successfully led significant external projects for Norland, including the creation of new family-friendly services for clients, the delivery of quality and standards audits, and support for the international accreditation of academic programmes.
Having been at Norland for more than 14 years, Mandy previously oversaw academic governance, ensuring that students met recognised sector standards in their work and could effectively apply their learning to their practice with young children and families. She managed admissions, student services, the library, quality, student records, data and IT, and was responsible for Norland’s compliance with the higher education regulatory framework, working with the Office for Students (OfS), the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA), the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and UCAS.
She played a significant role in Norland’s acquisition of TEF Gold, taught degree awarding powers (TDAP) and indefinite degree awarding powers (IDAP).
Mandy has spoken at national conferences on topics including student engagement, the use of student data in quality systems, achieving TEF Gold, quality and standards reviews, degree awarding powers assessment processes and quality enhancement. She also works for QAA as an assessor and is a consultant for Independent HE, where she regularly contributes to member workshops.
