Dr Janet Rose to speak at Cambridge Early Years Conference

Principal Dr Janet Rose to give a talk on children’s emotional development and self-regulation at the Cambridge Early Years Online Conference on 12 March.
Norland is delighted to announce that Principal Dr Janet Rose has been invited to speak at the Cambridge Early Years Online Conference as part of Cambridge’s international programme for early years professionals and educators.
Dr Rose’s session, ‘Building self‑regulation, relationships and resilience through play’, will explore how play supports children’s emotional wellbeing, social relationships and self‑regulation. Bringing together research from neurophysiology and neurobiology with practical, playful strategies, it will focus on how play can support children to build resilience, manage emotions and develop secure attachments and relationships to thrive in early learning environments.
The free, three‑day Cambridge Early Years online conference – Playfully Serious: Learning with Joy, Purpose and Possibility – will run from 10–12 March 2026. The conference will bring together early years practitioners and educators from around the world to explore the fundamental role of play in early childhood education.
The conference programme features nine live online sessions across the three days, including keynote presentations, expert talks and interactive sessions. Each session is designed to provide practical, research‑informed ideas that can be applied directly in early years settings. Sessions explore a wide range of themes within the Cambridge Early Years curriculum, all viewed through the lens of play‑based learning and how it can shape the future of children.
Norland is delighted that Dr Rose has been invited to share her expertise, which is central to shaping the pioneering research-informed practice and education taught at Norland, at the prestigious international Cambridge Early Years Conference.
Working with Cambridge University Press on this conference reflects our shared commitment to high-quality, holistic play-based early childhood education.
