The unprovoked invasion of Ukraine by Russia and the escalating humanitarian catastrophe in the wider region are deeply distressing. As well as sending our love and thoughts to all those impacted, the Norland community wishes to help in practical ways too. We are therefore coming together to provide essential support to those affected.

A Norland Just Giving page has been set up for donations with all funds going to the Disasters Emergency Committee fund for Ukraine, which brings together 15 leading UK charities including the British Red Cross. The Norland Foundation, the charity that owns Norland, is making a sizeable donation to this fund. Staff, students, graduates and other members of the Norland community are invited to contribute and/or fundraise towards this appeal. The Charity and Community Student Reps are consulting with the student body on how to fundraise over the next few weeks.

We have compiled a list of current local donation points and specific items needed and shared this with our community. We considered collecting on campus, but as there are so many local organisations already collecting, we decided it would be more helpful to sign post toward these. Radio Bath has a list of local donation points.

We have put the Ukraine flag in our windows to show our support and solidarity with Ukraine and everyone affected.
