On 2 December, Norland proudly hosted a distinguished delegation from Turkey, led by Professor Nalan Kuru of Uludag University, as part of the Emotion Coaching UK International Alliance. This visit underscores Norland’s commitment to sharing expertise and promoting best practice in early years education on a global scale.

The Turkish visitors, representing the Emotion Friendly School movement and Emotion Coaching Turkey – founded by Professor Kuru as an international alliance partner of Emotion Coaching UK (EC UK) – explored how relational approaches and Emotion Coaching are woven into Norland’s pioneering BA (Hons) degree and diploma programme.

Emotion Coaching Turkey has recently conducted a national research programme focused on emotional literacy in early years and school settings. Their collaboration with EC UK continues to strengthen emotional literacy in schools and early years settings, marking a significant milestone in the international partnership united by shared origins, values, and interests. Together, they are advancing emotion coaching practices globally, adapting these approaches to diverse cultural contexts.

During their time at Norland, the group observed the innovative, high-quality early years training delivered through the BA (Hons) degree and Norland diploma and explored how emotion coaching and relational approaches are woven into the curriculum. This visit marks a milestone in the journey of Emotion Coaching Turkey to strengthen emotional literacy in a culturally sensitive context.

Hosting this delegation underscores Norland’s ethos of sharing and promoting early years expertise and its international impact. By welcoming leaders in emotion coaching from around the globe, Norland continues to champion relational and emotionally aware practices to support children and families worldwide.
