We’re delighted to announce the launch of the Norland Nursery Times Crinkly Newspaper as part of our 130th anniversary celebrations. The six-page illustrated crinkly cloth book tells the story of a child’s day out in Bath with a Norland Nanny.

This charming book, which is available from the online Norland shop, is suitable for babies aged three months and above as well as toddlers.

The Crinkly Newspaper range of sensory books are designed to support early literacy and sensory development, areas of child development that students learn extensively about on Norland’s award-winning early years degree and diploma integrated course.

Crinkly Cloth Books was founded by two friends, Jo and Nic, who met working in a children’s book publisher in Bath. They built their business from scratch and launched into retail in 2018, and create, illustrate, design and write all of the books in the collection.

Crinkly’s latest book about a young child’s day out in Bath with a Norland Nanny is one of 45 titles in their range, which includes sensory books that enable children to discover animals in different parts of the world, explore different parts of the UK and explain hospitals in an age-appropriate manner.

Dr Janet Rose, Principal of Norland, commented: “We’re honoured that Jo and Nic chose a Norland Nanny to feature in their new sensory book exploring the iconic city of Bath, which is home to Norland. This book captures the special relationship Norlanders have with their charges perfectly and it’s wonderful that it’s been published in our 130th year. The fact that this book also supports literacy and sensory development makes it even more fantastic and I’m sure that there’ll be many students, Newly Qualified Nannies and Norlanders purchasing this book to read with their charges!”

Jo and Nic, founders of Crinkly Cloth Books, said: “We’re privileged to have the opportunity to design a Norland Nanny crinkly cloth book. Bath is a beautiful city and it was on our to-do list so being able to focus the content on a Norland Nanny worked perfectly. There are plenty more titles in progress and possibly a follow up of the Norland Nanny title too.

Since winning the Gold for best baby book 0-2 years in the Junior Design Awards 2021, our business has gone from strength to strength. We are so glad that children are enjoying the Nursery Times and thank everyone for supporting our small business.”
