The role

Post title: Research Assistant (Maternity Cover)

Salary: Grade – F Salary band – £28,971- £31,034 (pro-rated to £11,588 – £12,414). Placement on the grade is dependent on experience and qualifications

Hours: Part time, fixed term to cover maternity leave, 14 hours per week (0.4 contract) over 2 days a week (Monday and Tuesday)

Location: Hybrid working. Office location – 39-41 Upper Oldfield Park, Bath, BA2 3LB

We are looking to appoint a Research Assistant who, under the guidance and support of the Research Fellow/Manager, will conduct literature reviews/scoping studies, analyse primary data, produce research reports and support the Editor-in-Chief with the Norland Educare Research Journal.

You must hold a PhD (or be in the process of completing a PhD) in education or a related field of study (e.g., psychology, health). Please note this is a fixed term post only.

The successful candidate will have experience in conducting research, collecting primary and secondary data, both qualitative and quantitative, and analysing and synthesizing findings. You will need to be confident in using databases for literature searches and have the knowledge or willingness to learn about different tools/ platforms, as required.

You will need to be a self-starter, with the ability to get on well with people, be highly organised in order to meet deadlines and work to a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment. A flexible approach to work and a friendly, approachable nature are key to being successful in this role.
