Norland hosts ARC event to develop free early years resources
28 July 2025

Norland was delighted to host members of the Attachment Research Community (ARC) for a one-day event to develop free resources for early years settings.
Led by ARC trustee Dr Adele Thacker, the event brought together early years professionals, educators and researchers from across the UK to develop a comprehensive package of free resources aimed at supporting early years settings to become trauma-informed environments.
This event forms part of ARC’s initiatives to support schools and settings to develop best attachment and trauma aware practice. By bringing together experts and practitioners, the day facilitated in-depth discussions and resource development, which will result in materials that support settings through a framework that supports the development of resilience via three key themes: relationships, regulation, and repair.

Principal Dr Janet Rose has worked with ARC for several years, advising and contributing to workshops and leading keynote lectures on trauma-informed education and emotion coaching.
She was delighted to host the event at Norland, saying: “At Norland, we recognise the critical role that attachment and trauma-informed practice play in supporting children’s emotional wellbeing. Our curriculum is designed to ensure that our graduates are well-prepared to help children navigate their emotions and build strong, positive relationships.
“The success of the day’s discussions in developing resources was truly remarkable. These free resources will be invaluable in helping early years settings become trauma-informed environments, fostering resilience and promoting healthy emotional development which is essential for children’s overall growth and success.”
