Third-year student Beth is running the Bath Half Marathon for SURF, a small charity based in the Yorkshire Region Spinal Injuries Centre at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield.

It’s a charity close to Beth’s heart, and they helped Beth and her family when she was a patient there and after she was discharged.

SURF provide a varied and extensive number of events that take place both on and off the spinal unit. These events and activities promote and assist newly injured/spinal issue patients to come to terms with their disability, showing by example that although life may be different, it can still be fun and active despite a spinal issue.
