Accessing Moodle

What Moodle is

Moodle is Norland’s online learning environment. As a student, you will use Moodle to access learning materials, assessment information, course communications and online learning activities throughout your studies.

If you are new to Moodle, this guide will help you access the platform for the first time and sign in using your Norland account.

Before you log in

Before accessing Moodle, make sure you have your Norland username and password and that you have completed the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) setup process.

For the best experience, access Moodle using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a laptop or desktop computer. Although Moodle can be accessed on mobile devices, some activities and resources may be easier to view and complete on a larger screen.

Accessing Moodle

To access Moodle, open Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge and go to: https://moodle.norland.ac.uk/

Select Log in and sign in using your Norland username and password.

Once you have signed in successfully, you will be taken to your Moodle Homepage. This is your starting point for accessing courses and navigating Moodle.

Finding your course

You can access your courses from the Dashboard area.

The courses available to you will depend on your programme of study and where you are in the academic year. Some courses may become available later than others, and learning materials may be released gradually throughout a course.

If you cannot see a course or resource that you were expecting, check any information you have received about course availability before contacting support.

Getting help

If you experience difficulties signing in, accessing your Norland account or completing MFA, contact the IT Helpdesk.

If you can access Moodle but need support with navigating the platform or accessing learning materials, contact your programme lead.
