Michael Bray

Biography

Michael Bray is a retired Chief Finance Officer of The Institute of Physics (IoP). The IoP is a corporate membership organisation and charity governed by the Charity Commission. Michael was responsible to the CEO and the Institute’s Council for the overall financial health and well-being of the Institute and its trading subsidiaries. He had overarching responsibility for the group accounts of the Institute, set IOP’s financial and investment policy and was a key participant, in partnership with the Executive Board, in the development and implementation of Institute strategy. Michael is now a trustee of the IoP DB pension scheme and also volunteers as a driver for the LINK charity, taking patients to hospital appointments. 

Michael is the Chair of the Finance Committee and Chair of the Remuneration Committee. Michael currently sits on the Norland Foundation Board of Trustees as the representative of the Board of Directors.
