
Biography
Dawn Evans joined Norland as Early Years Lecturer in 2025. She has over 20 years’ experience working in Higher Education teaching. Dawn is a qualified Primary and Early Years teacher, she studied a BA (Hons) in Primary Education with a Qualified teacher status specialising in English and Drama and Early Years. She also has a postgraduate certificate in Early Years Education from Bath Spa University. She has taught and been programme lead on both early years foundation and early childhood studies degrees at New College Swindon’s University Centre, working in partnership with Bath Spa University and Oxford Brookes University. Her roles have included module leadership, subject teaching, dissertation supervisions and personal tutoring.
Prior to joining New College, Dawn worked as a Baby/Toddler Room Lead in a Nursery and as an NVQ Apprenticeship Co-Ordinator. Dawn is co-author of a chapter about childhood in The Early Years Handbook for Students and Practitioners for foundation degree students. Her current area of research interest is student self-care, mental health and wellbeing.
