For empirical research papers include information about the research design, research sample, analysis of data, methodology and ethical considerations, as well as discussing the validity of the reported research.

For systematic literature reviews and scoping studies outline the methodology and steps followed in searching and locating studies, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and the method used for analysing the selected studies.

For philosophical, position or critical review papers articulate the thesis, methodological paradigm, ontology and epistemology to substantiate their arguments.

For methodological papers especially when referring to new and innovative methodologies and methods of collecting data, and demonstrate the research ethics considering ontological, epistemic and ethical arguments.
