Norland granted university title: FAQs for clients
We are delighted to share the news that Norland has been granted university title, following assessment and approval by the Office for Students. From 7 September 2026, Norland will become Norland University of Early Childhood – the world’s first university dedicated to early childhood.
As we celebrate this landmark, we understand that you may have some questions as a client of a Newly Qualified Nanny or Norlander. Please see below answers to queries that you may have.

Norland’s achievement of university status is a positive milestone for the whole Norland community, including families employing a Newly Qualified Nanny through Norland. It recognises the quality, depth and specialist focus of Norland’s education and training. For NQN clients, the most important point is that your nanny remains a Norland degree graduate who is completing their final year of supported, professional training, with Norland’s guidance and oversight in place throughout.
No. Any current employment arrangement, placement support or guidance from the Newly Qualified Nanny team will continue as agreed. Your NQN has already completed the BA (Hons) Early Childhood Education and Care degree and is undertaking the final, supported employment year required to complete the Norland Diploma and gain the professional title Norland Nanny, or Norlander. The change to Norland University of Early Childhood does not alter their role, responsibilities or relationship with your family.
No. Norland’s support for families and NQNs will continue as normal. The NQN year is an important part of Norland’s distinctive model, following degree-level study, professional training, practical skill development and supported workplace experience. Families can continue to expect clear guidance, support and communication from the Norland team.
No. Existing fees, contracts and terms and conditions remain as agreed. If any administrative wording needs to be updated to reflect the new institutional name, we will make this clear and keep the process simple for families.

No. Any current placement, employment arrangement or ongoing support from the Norland Agency team will continue as agreed. Your Norlander remains the same highly trained professional, and the change to Norland University of Early Childhood does not alter their qualification, role, responsibilities or relationship with your family.
No. Norland Agency will continue to provide the same trusted services to families and clients. The name change relates to Norland’s university status and does not change the way the agency supports placements, introductions, recruitment, advice or ongoing client relationships.
